Abstract :
An ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) tag antenna that can be placed on a metal surface with stable performance is proposed. It is made of a modified dipole with two cylindrical metal grounds on both ends. The cylindrical metal grounds not only enable the antenna to roll freely on a metal surface with a stable reading performance, but also reduce the antenna's length. The proposed tag antenna maintains a small size with a diameter of 10 mm (0.031 lambda) and a length of 45 mm (0.137 lambda). With an effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) of 4W, experimental results demonstrate that the proposed tag can achieve a maximum read distance ranging from 9.1 to 11.7 m when the tag rolls on a metal surface. The tag has the advantages of a more compact size, better reading range, and excellent rolling capability on a metal surface in comparison with the state-of-the-art. These features fulfill the emerging demands in the industrial Internet of Things field.

研究了一种应用于卫星导航终端的小型化交叉耦合馈电八臂缝隙螺旋天线.八条缝隙螺旋臂作为天线的辐射单元,蚀刻在FR4介质基板构成的方形柱状结构的外表面.馈电网络为上、下相互正交四分之三圆环的交叉偶极子微带线结构,延伸至了外表面且实现了交叉耦合馈电.天线尺寸为0.082 λ0×0.082 λ0×0.130 λ0(λ0为中心频率1.561 GHz对应的自由空间波长),实测结果显示,|S11|≤-10 dB的阻抗带宽为1.554 GHz~1.591 GHz,3 dB轴比带宽为1.535 GHz~1.594 GHz.在北斗卫星导航系统B1频段中心频率(1.561 GHz)和全球定位系统L1频段中心频率(1.575 GHz)处的增益分别达到了 2.56 dBi和2.75 dBi.该天线采用八臂缝隙螺旋和交叉偶极子臂耦合馈电相结合的结构,实现了较好的圆极化性能,同时具备宽频带和小型化的特点.

Abstract :
A compact and tunable ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) tag antenna is proposed. The antenna comprises a rectangular ring, two symmetrical radiating arms formed by multiple L-shaped stubs, and two interdigitated structures. By adjusting the parameters of double interdigitated structures, the resonant frequency of the antenna can be tuned coarsely and finely, while maintaining a nearly constant maximum power transmission coefficient. The proposed tag antenna has a size of 28 mm × 16 mm (0.086λ×0.049λ at 920 MHz). Measurement results show that the proposed antenna can achieve the maximum reading distance of 6.8 m at 920 MHz under the condition of 3.28 W effective isotropic radiated power. The proposed RFID tag antenna offers several advantages, including compact size and frequency tunability, making it well suited for various RFID system applications. © 2024, Electromagnetics Academy. Abstract :
A miniaturized ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) tag antenna was designed. The antenna was composed of two square spiral resonators shorted inside and outside. By adjusting the edge length of the outer ring spiral resonator and the spacing between the inner and outer ring spiral resonators, the resonant frequency of the proposed tag antenna could be effectively tuned. The simulation results show that the proposed tag antenna has good impedance matching and the frequency band range covers the whole UHF band (840~960 MHz). It has a dimension of 7.60 mm×7.60 mm×0.05 mm, which is 96% smaller than the traditional spiral resonator (SR) antenna. The measure result shows that the proposed tag antenna achieves the maximum reading distance at 910 MHz in 4 W effective isotropic radi-ated power. The proposed UHF RFID tag antenna has some advantages of small size, wide frequency band, low cost and easy batch fabrication, and is suitable for applications with small size requirements. © 2024, Beijing Xintong Media Co., Ltd. Abstract :
The present invention discloses a multi slot compact UHF RFID tag antenna model suitable for double-side anti metal. This design achieves precise adjustment of tag resonance frequency by creating multiple grooves on the top and bottom of this tag, while maintaining a compact physical size (40mm × 28mm × 3.2mm), making it easy to use in various environments. In addition, the tag design also solves the problem of reading difficulties that traditional RFID tags may encounter when attached to metal surfaces. Even on the metal surface, the chip and antenna can maintain good impedance matching, ensuring stable reading distances of at least 6 meters and 5.6 meters can be achieved even on a 200mm × 200mm metal plate with a transmission power of 4W EIRP. © 2024 IEEE.

Abstract :
A low-profile ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) tag antenna for double-sided anti-metal applications is proposed. The antenna comprises a middle layer of radiation patch, which is sandwiched between two layers of foam substrates, each with a thickness of 0.5 mm, and flanked by two layers of ground plane. A rectangular loop is designed on the radiation patch to expand the frequency band and optimize impedance matching. Particularly, one side of the radiation patch is shorted to the ground through a slotted stub to reduce the antenna size. The tag antenna is compact with a dimension of 38 mm × 20 mm × 1.15 mm (0.1159λ×0.061λ×0.0035λ at 915 MHz). When the two ground planes are individually mounted on metallic objects, the read distances are 5.4 m and 5.2 m, respectively. The proposed tag antenna demonstrates double-sided metal resistance, making it highly suitable for use in the industrial internet of things field. © 2024, Electromagnetics Academy. 提出一种应用于卫星导航终端的小型化双环型偶极子天线.天线由一对开口环形偶极子臂、底部反射平面和侧面栅栏组成.通过不对称环形偶极子臂上电流产生的远场电场周期性叠加或抵消,使天线远场电场方向逆时针旋转,实现右旋圆极化辐射.同时,通过在侧面加载弯折的短路栅栏,改善天线的增益方向图和工作带宽.天线整体尺寸为 45mm×45mm×23mm.实测结果表明,S11≤-10 dB的阻抗带宽为 1.35~1.63 GHz,轴比(RA)≤3 dB的带宽为 1.41~1.69 GHz,在北斗B1 频点的右旋圆极化增益为4.03 dBi.相较于传统的圆极化天线,所提出的天线尺寸较小、结构简单、易于加工,具有良好的带宽和增益,在卫星导航终端设备上具有较好的应用前景.

Abstract :
The time-reversal (TR) method has been proven effective in reconstructing sources due to its spatiotemporal focusing properties. Much work so far on the topic has been conducted with sources of specific frequency bandwidths. However, most sources in practical situations are time-harmonic or single frequency. This letter proposes a novel approach to address this challenge by analyzing the TR method in the frequency domain and modifying it to derive a source condition for single-frequency sources. The proposed method is validated through numerical examples, demonstrating its effectiveness in source reconstruction. This work provides an alternative pathway for further development of practical electromagnetic source reconstruction techniques and testing systems.

Abstract :
This article presents a wideband printed-monopole antenna pair with enhanced isolation. A clear two-step method based on even-mode (EM) and odd-mode (OM) analyses is developed for antenna decoupling and matching: first, the OM input impedance of the antenna pair is matched by adjusting the element spacing; next, the EM input impedance is matched by adding a coupled TEM transmission line. Those two steps are independent and easy to implement. Notably, the use of a nondispersive coupled transmission line facilitates wideband decoupling and intrinsically allows an extremely small feed-point spacing. The proposed antenna pair is experimentally tested: it offers isolation higher than 20 dB and total efficiency higher than 87% from 3.7 to 7.3 GHz (a fractional bandwidth of 65.5%). The separation between the two feed points is only 5.6 mm (0.069 ? at 3.7 GHz). Furthermore, we construct a four-element multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) array by intersecting orthogonally two of the proposed antenna pairs at their central line, which offer an isolation level better than 20 dB from 3.8 to 7.4 GHz for every two ports. With a straightforward design process, compact feeding structures, and wideband performances, the proposed dual-and four-element MIMO antennas are promising for the fifth-generation wireless communication.
