Abstract :
Due to the similarity in appearance and dense deployment of devices in industrial environments, relying solely on machine vision makes it challenging for inspection robots to accurately identify similar devices. Although wireless signals from industrial internet of things (IoT) can serve as identification features, signal fluctuations impact the accuracy and efficiency of recognition. To address this issue, this paper proposes a proximity estimation algorithm with position adjustment for autonomous industrial inspection. The algorithm considers the spatial relationships between nodes and the topological relationship between the signal strength and variations among the nodes. By analyzing the topological relationship between the signal strength and variations among the nodes, the robot autonomously adjusts its position and selects the proximal node based on the spatial topology relationship between them. We have built an inspection platform using quadruped robots to evaluate the effectiveness of the experiments. The experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm further improves the efficiency of identifying proximal devices while ensuring the estimation accuracy of the algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

Abstract :
Under weak-grid condition, the mismatch degree between grid impedance and inverter output impedance can increase, which will lead to inverter instability. Compared with conventional power grid, the parallel resonance of multi-inverter parallel system is more likely to happen. In order to improve inverter stability and suppress multiple-inverter parallel resonance under weak-grid condition, a new generalized control mode for control layer is proposed in this paper, which is based on finite set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) and inverse dynamic model control (IDM). The FCS-MPC with delay compensation is introduced into the current inner loop of the control layer, and the IDM control is introduced into the voltage outer loop, so as to make the transfer functions of current inner loop and voltage outer loop unitized and further reduce the order of the inverter's control system. Order reduction can improve the phase margin of the inverter output impedance, in other words, enhance inverter dynamic performance. Finally, the simulation model of multi-inverter parallel system is built, and by comparing with the traditional control strategies, the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is verified.

Abstract :
The efficient management of storage has become a critical determinant of operational efficiency due to the growing and diverse demand for steel logistics parks. However, the current storage methods consistently result in significant imbalances in the loading of steel products and operating times across multiple yards. To address this challenge, we propose optimizing the distribution of steel products based on demand levels and retrieval efficiency. Firstly, we present an optimization problem that employs demand-driven storage principles to formulate the scheduling of steel product storage. Then, we introduce a novel algorithm called the Adaptive Preferred Evolutionary Heuristic (APEH) to tackle this problem. The results from our experiments indicate that this model effectively enhances the storage structure, and the proposed algorithm consistently yields optimal solutions within a reasonable timeframe. © 2023 IEEE.

Abstract :
Students behavior in the classroom has a close relation with the academic performance of students. With the widespread use of mobile phones, the students are easily distracted by mobile phones during the class. Therefore, analyzing the students behavior in the classroom becomes important to improve the quality of teaching. However, the existing methods for analyzing students behavior in the classroom, such as facial recognition, has low efficiency with large amounts of irrelevant data. And it also raises concerns about privacy and ethical issues. To solve this problem, in this paper, a novel mobile software called EasyClass has been developed to collect and quantify students behaviors. Based on the data collected by EasyClass, we propose to utilize user profiling to study students behavior in the classroom. The clustering algorithm is firstly employed to classify the data and generate semantically tags which describe students behavior in the classroom. Then a sequence and association rule analysis method is used to analyze the behavior tags and generated association rules. The results enable educators and non-expert users to gain a deeper understanding of students behavior in the classroom, and further improve the quality of the classroom teaching. © 2023 IEEE.

Abstract :
Automated wood defect detection is of great significance for improving wood utilization. However, the stains on the wood surface resemble defect features and it is difficult to distinguish the appearance of wane from defect-free regions. Relying solely on machine vision for extracting surface features of wood makes it difficult to achieve accurate defect detection. To address these challenges, we propose MMDNet, a multimodal detection network that combines point cloud and image data. By adaptively fusing point cloud and image features at multiple stages, the network effectively highlights wood surface defect regions. Additionally, we introduce an Atrous Spatial Pyramid Pooling (ASPP) module into the network, which expands the network's receptive field and enables a comprehensive perception of the defects. Furthermore, we employ a deep supervision strategy to encourage the network to learn discriminative feature representations, enhancing the model's ability to differentiate defect regions. Experimental results validate the effectiveness of our method in detecting defects that are similar to the background and reducing interference from stains. © 2023 IEEE.

Abstract :
As an effective carrier of a new energy collection, the DC power grid has low inertia and weak damping characteristics, making it essential to limit fault current and isolate the DC system. To quickly and effectively suppress fault current, a flexible current-limiting device (FCLD) is proposed, which can realize transient fault self-recovery without circuit breaker action and permanent and quick isolation of a fault. It improves the operational ability of the DC system under an asymmetric condition. First, a rectifier provides a set-slope current to each cascade inductor, so the voltage of the inductor can be clamped. Second, a controlled current source (CCS) is applied to generate inverse flux to prevent the inductor from magnetic saturation. The protection action time of the DC circuit breaker is reformulated. Finally, by considering the synergistic action of the current-limiting device, the circuit breaker, and the transient characteristics of the DC grid fault, the protection scheme of the multi-terminal flexible DC system can be formulated. To verify the validity of the proposed flexible current-limiting device, a multi-terminal flexible DC simulation platform is established, and the faults of DC lines are simulated and analyzed.

Abstract :
Given poor path quality, long replanning time, and slow convergence of traditional sampling planning algorithms in dynamic environments, an optimal dynamic rapidly exploring random tree*(D-RRT*) algorithm with global planning combined with local replanning is proposed. First, for the blind search problem inherent in the traditional RRT algorithm, a goal-biased strategy is introduced to reduce the redundant search and accelerate the convergence of the algorithm. Secondly, a triangular inequality-based inverse optimization strategy is introduced to optimize the path. Then, global planning combined with local replanning is used to improve the real-time performance of the algorithm for dynamic environments. Finally, D-RRT* is simulated and compared with the traditional sampling algorithm for analysis, and the experimental results verify the efficiency and stability of the D-RRT* algorithm in the dynamic environment. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Abstract :
Aiming to achieve fault ride-through (FRT) in a microgrid under the condition of an asymmetric power grid, this paper proposes a scheme that applies the cascaded H-bridge flexible fault current limiter to realize both voltage regulation and current limiting at the point of common coupling (PCC). In order to overcome the instability of phase-locked loop (PLL) and its other problems, in the double-synchronous rotating coordinate system, the dq-axis components of each sequence electric quantity can be extracted without PLL by setting the rotational angular frequency of the coordinate axis to a given value. To eliminate the deviation between the set frequency and the actual frequency of the power grid, the calculation formula for the frequency correction amount is deduced, and, based on this, an iterative correction method for the set frequency of the rotating coordinate system is proposed. In this way, the set frequency can adaptively follow the actual frequency of the power grid, which ensures the effectiveness of the non-PLL scheme. Based on this, a sequence decomposition and compensation control strategy for the CHB-FFCL is presented. Finally, through the MATLAB/Simulink platform simulation, the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified and thereby shown to improve the FRT capability of microgrids under complex grid conditions.
