Abstract :

In the ride-hailing market, the platforms could recruit contractors subject to prescriptive schedules to reduce the labor supply uncertainty and balance the demand and supply, and the drivers are entitled to become a freelancer or a contractor and choose the schedule they would like to provide the service. This paper proposes an analytical framework to capture the drivers ' decisions of becoming a freelancer and contractor as well as how to arrange their work schedules in a dual sourcing market. The utility structures for two kinds of drivers, freelancers and contractors, are defined and a time-expanded network is adopted to portray the drivers ' work schedule choices. With this setting, the drivers ' simultaneous contractual mode and work schedule selection model is formulated and the algorithm is designed. The numerical examples are conducted to investigate the characteristics of the equilibrium solutions. The results show that a dual-sourcing market is always advantageous to contractors and conditionally beneficial to the platform, freelancers and customers. When there is low potential demand, higher fixed salary is preferred for the platform to attract contractor and complement the labor supply. When the market is thriving, the effect of the profits ' increment by dual-sourcing is not obvious. This work could provide new insights on how to manage a dual-sourcing market for the platform.

Abstract :

考虑自动驾驶背景下新型多模式通勤方式并存的情景,设置存在自动驾驶汽车专用道,即传统汽车与自动驾驶汽车分离出行的双车道交通系统,基于瓶颈模型进行建模,分析实施可交易电子路票与鼓励合乘组合管理策略前后对路票市场价格、通勤者出行方式选择和自动驾驶汽车内生渗透率的影响,并以系统总成本改善效果最佳为目标,协同优化组合管理策略参数。研究表明:实施组合管理策略后,路票市场价格可唯一确定;部分独驾通勤者转向合乘出行,系统总车辆数减少,两车道的早高峰持续时间均缩短,交通拥堵得到改善;存在满足特定关系的组合管理策略参数使得系统总成本改善最佳,且能够得到系统最优时的私人自动驾驶汽车和共享自动驾驶汽车的市场渗透率。研究可为未来城市交通管理提供新的思路。

Abstract :

The advent of autonomous vehicles (AVs) with self-parking capability puts forward new requirements for parking policy and management. In a transportation system with both general and dedicated AV lanes, this work aims to examine and compare the effectiveness of different parking policies on the morning commute. To be specific, three policies of parking space allocation, namely, first-come-first-service (FCFS), advanced reservation (AR), and their combination (CB), are proposed to guide the commuters’ travel choices. Commuters can drive regular vehicles (RVs) alone on the general lane or ridesharing shared autonomous vehicles (SAVs) on the dedicated AV lane. The occurrence conditions and the resultant SAV penetration rates for various scenarios under three parking policies are revealed. The area division for various scenarios with respect to two key parameters is presented, and the typical departure patterns are plotted as well. The numerical results clarify that the CB policy always has a better effect on the total travel cost than FCFS and AR policies. The optimal CB policy is quantified in terms of the optimal amount of all parking spaces and the proportion of unreserved parking spaces. These findings help to improve the spatial and temporal distribution of traffic flow and allocate transportation resources efficiently in the coming era of autonomous driving. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

Abstract :

自动驾驶的出现将为出行者提供一种新的安全、便捷、高效的出行方式,有助于提升整个交通系统的出行效率.文章研究累积前景理论框架下异质用户的自动驾驶收益.假设出行者是异质的,根据他们的参考点被划分为几类,每类用户的自动驾驶汽车市场渗透率是由他们自身的参考点内生确定.自动驾驶出行者可以获得完美的路径信息,从而按照基于累积前景值的用户均衡方式进行路径选择,而传统汽车出行者则按照Logit随机方式进行路径选择.在此基础上,构建基于累积前景理论的混合多用户网络均衡模型,并设计求解算法求解均衡问题.数值算例结果表明,自动驾驶出行者总能获得正的收益,且参考点越高,自动驾驶收益越大.此外,系统收益对出行需求较为敏感,当传统汽车出行者处于中等感知水平,市场渗透率相对较低,获得或损失敏感性递减程度相对较低时,系统可以获得更高的收益.

Abstract :

Autonomous vehicles are expected to generate significant impact on travel behavior and modal split in transportation system. This study investigates the influence of combined strategy of tradable credit scheme (TCS) and public transit fare on commuters’ travel mode choice (such as the conditions for various portfolios of travel modes, the penetration rate for shared autonomous vehicles (SAVs), and the credit price), and the number of commuters transferring among different travel modes and the total travel cost. The results show that the equilibrium credit price can be uniquely determined after the combination strategy is introduced. When a certain condition is met, the number of commuters for regular vehicles and the total number of vehicles on highway decrease significantly by switching to the modes of SAV or public transit, and the effect increases with the public transit fare and the amount of charged credit. Finally, the optimal solution of the total travel cost appears in the region including all three travel modes, where the amount of charged credit equals a certain value and the public transit fare achieves its maximal value in the feasible region. This paper is helpful in quantifying the impact of the new technology and providing the theoretical reference for traffic management departments to develop effective management strategies. © 2023 Systems Engineering Society of China. Abstract :

Inspired by the fact that production capacity in the food industry is uncertain due to unexpected events, such as downtime, this work investigates a stochastic closed-loop supply chain for multiple perishable foods that are carried by returnable transport items, where production capacity is uncertain. For the new problem, we propose a non-linear chance-constrained model. Then it is transformed into a mixed-integer linear programming model via the sampling average approximation and the distribution-free methods such that it can be solved by commercial solvers, like CPLEX. Numerical experiments on randomly generated instances show that the distribution-free method performs better than the average approximation method. Some managerial insights are also presented and discussed. © 2023 IEEE.

计划延误成本的设定对早高峰通勤行为的分析有着至关重要的作用.文章基于时变计划延误成本假设,考虑普通驾驶和共享无人驾驶两种出行方式,构建早高峰通勤模型,研究时变计划延误成本假设对早高峰通勤行为的影响.与常数延误成本假设不同,时变计划延误成本假设通勤者的单位延误成本是随时间变化的.研究结果表明,时变计划延误成本假设下通勤者出发率和最优收费均为非线性曲线;与基于时变计划延误成本假设的模型相比,常计划延误成本假设的模型总是高估共享无人驾驶内生市场渗透率、系统总成本和对共享无人驾驶汽车的最优收费,低估早高峰持续时长和对传统汽车的最优收费.因此,考虑计划延误成本的时变效应有助于交通管理部门制定更加精确的配套政策.

无人驾驶的出现将会影响通勤者的出行行为以及出行服务运营方的经营策略制定.文章基于活动的视角将无人驾驶车内活动效用以及时间利用效率纳入考虑,以一个无人驾驶车辆与地铁共存的双模式交通系统为例,构建了基于活动的双模式出行选择模型,并对地铁运营方在追求经营利润最大化与社会净效用最大化两种情形下的经营策略进行了分析优化.结果表明:基于出行的方法简化了早高峰期间瓶颈处发生拥堵的条件,同时低估了道路出行人数;当总发车班次数受限为定值时,发车间隔应随车票价格或车内活动效用的增加而缩短,同时可变成本等参数取值将会对车票价格的优化产生影响,且若忽略车内活动效用则会高估车票价格与发车间隔时间.此外,在地铁运营方以社会净效用最大化为经营目标时,虽然有着较高的社会净效用,但也承受着较高的经营成本.

自动驾驶的出现将对交通系统中的出行行为和模式划分产生显著影响.本文研究可交易电子路票和公共交通定价组合策略对通勤者出行模式选择的影响(如不同出行模式组合的出现条件,共享自动驾驶汽车市场渗透率,路票价格等),并进一步分析组合策略参数对通勤者在不同模式间的转移量和系统总成本的影响.研究表明,实施组合策略后,电子路票均衡价格可以唯一确定;当满足某个特定条件时,独自驾驶传统汽车的通勤者会转向共享自动驾驶汽车和公共交通模式,道路总车辆数明显减少,且效果随着公共交通票价和路票收取额的提高而增加.最后,系统总成本最优解出现在三种模式都包含的区域,此时路票收取额等于某一特定值且公共交通票价等于可行域内的最大值.本研究可以量化新技术的影响,并为交通管理部门制定有效的管理策略提供理论参考.
