Abstract :
The rational design of the directional charge transfer channel represents an important strategy to finely tune the charge migration and separation in photocatalytic CO2-to-fuel conversion. Despite the progress made in crafting high-performance photocatalysts, developing elegant photosystems with precisely modulated interfacial charge transfer feature remains a grand challenge. Here, a facile one-pot method is developed to achieve in situ self-assembly of Pd nanocrystals (NYs) on the transition metal chalcogenide (TMC) substrate with the aid of a non-conjugated insulating polymer, i.e., branched polyethylenimine (bPEI), for photoreduction of CO2 to syngas (CO/H-2). The generic reducing capability of the abundant amine groups grafted on the molecular backbone of bPEI fosters the homogeneous growth of Pd NYs on the TMC framework. Intriguingly, the self-assembled TMCs@bPEI@Pd heterostructure with bi-directional spatial charge transport pathways exhibit significantly boosted photoactivity toward CO2-to-syngas conversion under visible light irradiation, wherein bPEI serves as an efficient hole transfer mediator, and simultaneously Pd NYs act as an electron-withdrawing modulator for accelerating spatially vectorial charge separation. Furthermore, in-depth understanding of the in situ formed intermediates during the CO2 photoreduction process are exquisitely probed. This work provides a quintessential paradigm for in situ construction of multi-component heterojunction photosystem for solar-to-fuel energy conversion.

Abstract :
Photocatalysis has been regarded as an emerging technology to convert renewable solar energy to chemical fuels, providing unprecedented opportunities for solving the deteriorating energy crisis and environmental issues in the future. In recent years, atomically precise gold nanoclusters, which have emerged as novel light-harvesting antennas possessing the merits of unique atomic stacking fashion, the quantum confinement effect, enriched catalytically active sites and a discrete energy band structure, have been drawing enormous attention in diverse fields. Despite the advancement, there is deficiency of a systematic, comprehensive, and insightful summary on the gold nanocluster-based photosystems to reinforce our fundamental understanding of the charge transport characteristics of metal nanoclusters in photocatalysis. Herein, our review summarizes the latest progress in gold nanocluster mediated photocatalysis and photoelectrocatalysis for diverse applications including non-selective photocatalytic organic pollutant mineralization, photocatalytic selective organic transformation, photocatalytic hydrogen generation, photocatalytic CO2 reduction, and photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting. Moreover, we discuss the underlying photocatalytic and PEC mechanisms associated with the energy band and electronic structure of gold nanoclusters. Finally, perspectives and challenges of gold nanocluster-based photosystems are outlined. It is anticipated that our review could inspire ideas on how to smartly utilize atomically precise metal nanoclusters for crafting high-efficiency photosystems towards solar energy conversion.

Atomically precise metal nanoclusters (NCs) have emerged as a pivotal sector of metal nanomaterials due to their unique atomic stacking mode, quantum confinement effect and abundant active sites. In particular, the discrete energy band structure of metal NCs renders them emerging photosensitizers. Nonetheless, atomically precise metal NCs suffer from ultrashort charge lifetime and poor stability, impeding the construction of robust and stable metal NC-based photosystems. Herein, we designed multilayered metal oxide (MO)/(metal NCs/insulating polymer)(n) (metal NCs: Au-x@GSH, Ag-x@GSH, and Au-25@GSH(18) NCs) heterostructured photoanodes, wherein glutathione (GSH)-capped metal NCs and an ultra-thin non-conjugated insulating poly(allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH) layer are electrostatically layer-by-layer self-assembled on MO substrates in a periodic face-to-face stacking mode. We infer that electrons photoexcited over metal NCs in MOs/(metal NCs/PAH)(n) photosystems can be effectively extracted and tunneled to the adjoining MO substrates through the insulating polymer interim layer by engendering the tandem charge transfer pathway, thus significantly boosting the visible-light-driven photoelectrochemical water oxidation. This work opens up a new frontier for strategically mediating tunable charge transport over atomically precise metal NCs towards solar-to-hydrogen conversion.

大木作是中国古代建筑史中的重要内容,由于其知识点多、内容抽象且覆盖面广,仅靠传统的理论讲解并辅以图片说明,难以让学生真正理解并掌握。该文以重点文物保护单位“华林寺大殿”为例,利用虚拟现实内容创作引擎软件Idea VR构建华林寺大殿大木作虚拟模型,通过传统认知(即传统的“理论讲解+图片说明”)和虚拟认知(即虚拟环境下的大木构件拆装)实验,对虚拟环境下的华林寺大殿大木构件的认知开展实验研究。研究结果表明,虚拟认知方式对中国古建筑大木构件的感知及其理解的准确性明显高于传统认知方式,虚拟环境下的大木构件拆装教学不仅能激发学生的学习热忱、提高学生的学习兴趣,还能让学生直观地理解并掌握古建筑大木构件的名称...

视觉文化时代的呼啸而来,引发了从当代艺术创作到公众接受反映等方面的一系列变化,当代艺术创作愈加呈现出一种富有吸引力的文化外在形态.作为公共艺术当中的呈现形式,一些景观雕塑的创作亦呈现出具有投机色彩的"奇观化"倾向--彰显着突兀效果的视觉外形,取代了原本内在的应当凸显的精神内核.这也使得当代景观雕塑艺术家们,面临着应当如何把人为视觉和自然视觉平衡融合,如何使作品在公共空间中达到"凸显而不突兀"状态的课题.

在视觉文化盛行的当下,艺术的接受者较之以往发生了巨变.以当代景观雕塑为代表的当代艺术在介入公共空间时,就面临着一个新的课题--介入公共空间的有效方式的问题,即怎样有效介入公共空间更有利于当代景观雕塑的策略化生存,并使其艺术传播力达到最大化.于是,关注公共视读效果,实现艺术家与公众、艺术与公众之间的对话交流与互动,已成为当代景观雕塑有效介入公共空间的趋势,今后可能成为一种普泛化现象.运用接受反应理论、传播学等方法论来阐述和诠释这种有效的介入方式,可以使当代景观雕塑在公共空间的语境当中,在不断扩大其艺术传播力的过程当中,真正有效地实现其现实意义.
