Abstract :
A series of novel cage-like transition-metal (TM) incorporated heteropolyoxoniobates {TM4Nb64O200} (1-TM, TM = Ni, Cu, Mn, Cd) were hydrothermally synthesized and isolated as salts of mixed K+ and [CN3H6]+. As a result of transition metal ions incorporation, the charge distribution, redox potential, and active sites of the formed polyoxoniobates (PONbs) are variants, leading to differences in their electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Among these compounds, 1-Ni showed the best HER activity with an overpotential of 560 mV at 10 mA cm-2 and a minimum Tafel slope of 405.8 mV dec-1.

Abstract :
An all-inorganic three-dimensional (3D) polyoxoniobate (PONb) framework, Na6K4[(Nb6O19)CrIII(H2O)2]2·38H2O (1) has been synthesized via the hydrothermal method. The fundamental building unit of [(Nb6O19)CrIII(H2O)2]210− is connected by K+ ions, forming a 3D framework structure with channels along the b-axis. Compound 1 exhibits good thermal stability, and selectively absorbs Co2+ ions while excluding Ni2+ ions from acetonitrile solutions, PXRD analysis confirms that its framework remains intact after adsorption, indicating its potential as an effective ion-exchange material. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.

Abstract :
Polyoxometalates (POMs) have good potential for applications in different fields, including conducting materials, optics, and electrocatalysis. Of particular significance is the synthesis and development of addendum POMs. Molybdenum-oxo clusters, which are renowned for their diverse structures and electronic properties, were utilized to facilitate the synthesis of innovative materials. Herein, we employed presynthesized {XW9 Nb3O40} (X= Si/Ge) polyanions as secondary building units and different molybdenum-oxo clusters as linkers. Four new addendum POMs were constructed, including two dimeric compounds Cs10[H2(SiW9Nb3O40)2(Mo2O4C2O4)]19H2O (1) and Cs8[H4(GeW9Nb3O40)2(Mo2O4C2O4)]17H2O (2), and two tetrameric compounds Cs15(NH4)[(SiW9Nb3O40)4(Mo4O6)]42H2O (3) and Cs10K5[H(GeW9Nb3O40)4(Mo4O6)]39H2O (4). Notably, this is the first report of Mo/W/Nb ternary mixed-addendum POMs. In addition, compounds 3 and 4 facilitate the transfer of protons through extended hydrogen-bonding networks with conductivity values of 1.16 x 10-2 and 7.73 x 10-3 Scm-1 at 85 degrees C and 98% relative humidity, respectively. Furthermore, no discernible decline in conductivity was noted over the course of 10 h.

Abstract :
An oxalate-assisted strategy was first developed for creating new polyoxotantalates (POTas). With this strategy, two brand-new POTa supramolecular frameworks based on uncommon dimeric POTa secondary building units (SBUs) were constructed and characterized. Interestingly, the oxalate ligand can not only serve as a coordination ligand to form unique POTa SBUs but also act as a key hydrogen bond acceptor to construct supramolecular architectures. Besides, the architectures show outstanding proton conductivity. The strategy opens up new opportunities for developing new POTa materials.

A unique heteropolyoxotantalate (hetero-POTa) cluster[P2O7Ta5O14](7-) (P2Ta5) was first developed using pyrophosphateasa key to open the ultrastable skeleton of the classical Lindqvist-type[Ta6O19](8-) precursor. TheP(2)Ta(5) cluster can serve as a general and flexiblesecondary building unit to create a family of brand-new multidimensionalPOTa architectures. This work not only promotes the limited structuraldiversity of hetero-POTa but also provides a practical strategy fornew extended POTa architectures. A uniqueheteropolyoxotantalate (HPOTa) cluster of [P2O7Ta5O14](7-) (P2Ta5) was first developed for the creationof a family of brand-new multidimensional polyoxotantalate (POTa)architectures, providing a practical strategy for new extended POTamaterials.

Abstract :
A novel guanidine-containing polyoxotantalate (POTa), H12[CN3H6]12Na2(H2O)6[Cu(en)2(H2O)]3[Ta6O19]4 & sdot;32H2O (1) has been synthesized by adding the CH6N3+ as counter cations. The [Ta6O19]8- clusters in compound 1 are connected by sodium ions to form a 2-D layered structure, which is further connected through [Cu(en)2(H2O)]2+ to form a 3-D supramolecular framework structure. Moreover, it is demonstrated that compound 1 exhibits reversible thermochromism behavior, changing from purple to dark blue upon heating and dehydration, which endows it with potential application in the field of anti-counterfeiting functional materials.

Abstract :
Two new inorganic-organic hybrid polyoxotantalates (POTas), H2[Co(en)3]3Ta6O19 (1) and Na2(H2O)6H2[-Co(en)3]2Ta6O19 (2) (en = ethylenediamine) have been hydrothermally synthesized by using the phosphate buffer solution (Na3PO4/Na2HPO4, pH = 12.36) as reaction medium. Notably, both compounds are built from anionic [Ta6O19]8-clusters and [Co(en)3]2+ complexes, showing good stability. Moreover, it is demonstrated that both compounds exhibit moderate proton conduction properties.

Abstract :
A series of 3d-4f heterometallic cluster incorporated polyoxoniobates (PONbs) with different magnetic properties were first made and characterized. This work not only provides a promising strategy to make new heterometallic cluster incorporated PONbs but also demonstrates an ideal model to probe how transition-metal ions influence the magnetic property of PONbs.

Four tetra-Cd-substituted vanadogermanates (V-Ge-Os) H-2[Cd(dap)(2)]{[Cd(dap)](4)[Ge8V10O38(OH)(8)]}center dot 10H(2)O (1), H[Cd(phen)(H2O)(2)](2){[Cd(phen)](4)Ge8V10O39(OH)(7)}center dot 2H(2)O (2), [Cd(phen)(2)](2){[Cd(phen)](2)[Cd(daP)](2)Ge8V10O38(OH)(8)}center dot 2H(2)O (3) and H-2[Cd(Phen)(2)](4){[Cd(phen)](4)[Ge8V10O40(OH)(6)]}{[Cd(phen)](2)[Cd(H2O)(2)](2)[Ge8V10O38(OH)(8)]}center dot 10H(2)O (4) (dap = 1,2 - diaminopropane; phen = 1,10 - phenanthrolinemonohydrate) have been hydrothermally prepared and structurally characterized. Single crystal X-ray structural analyses indicate that all of 1-4 contain uncommon tetraCd-substituted V-Ge-O clusters. 1 is a rare one-dimensional chain based on tetra-Cd-substituted V-Ge-O clusters, while 2-4 are unique discrete tetra-Cd-substituted V-Ge-O clusters decorated with different metal-organoamine complexes. Furthermore, the thermal/chemical stability of 1 and 2 as well as the magnetic properties of 1, 2 and 4 were investigated.
