Dynamical Casimir effect in a hybrid cavity optomechanical system SCIE

Abstract :

In this paper, we show that the dynamical Casimir effect can be observed in a hybrid cavity optomechanical system. By introducing a two-level atom into the cavity, the atomic transition from an excited state to the ground state can evoke a two-photon process. Our proposal does not require a driving field to induce the dynamical Casimir effect, which is very alternative to previous schemes. Furthermore, we show that when the atom is replaced by an identical atomic ensemble, the system not only can simulate the similar dynamic Casimir effect, but also exist more plentiful physical phenomena, i.e., higher-order resonance. Numerical simulation confirms the validity of our derivation.

Abstract :

Nonclassical effects in mesoscopic systems have attracted much attention recently. In this paper, it is shown that multiphonon bundle emission can be observed in a strong-coupling cavity optomechanical system. Theoretical analysis shows that when the driving field is adjusted to nth-order sideband excitation, the coupling between the cavity mode and the vibrational mode leads to super-Rabi oscillations, and finally results in an n-phonon bundles emission. Based on the current technology, this process can work in a wide range of parameters. Numerical simulation confirms the validity of the derivation. It is thought that this physical mechanism broadens the applications of cavity optomechanical system in realm of quantum phononics, such as in quantum metrology and phonon laser.

Abstract :

In this paper, we propose a scheme to achieve a multiphonon-resonance quantum Rabi model and adiabatic passage in a strong-coupling cavity optomechanical system. In the scheme, when the driving bichromatic laser beam is adjusted to the off-resonant j-order red- and blue-sideband, the interaction between the cavity and mechanical oscillator leads to a j-phonon resonance quantum Rabi model. Moreover, we show that there exists a resonant multi-phonon coupling via intermediate states connected by counter-rotating processes when the frequency of the simulated bosonic mode is near a fraction of the transition frequency of the simulated two-level system. As a typical example, we theoretically analyze the two-phonon resonance quantum Rabi model, and derive an effective Hamiltonian of the six-phonon coupling. Finally, we present a method of six-phonon generation based on adiabatic passage across the resonance. Numerical simulations confirm the validity of the proposed scheme. Theoretically, the proposed scheme can be extended to the realization of 3j-phonon state.

Abstract :

We present an alternative scheme to achieve Schrodinger cat states in a strong coupling hybrid cavity optomechanical system. Under the single-photon strong-coupling regime, the interaction between the atom-cavity-oscillator system can induce the mesoscopic mechanical oscillator to Schrodinger cat states. Comparing to previous schemes, the proposed proposal consider the second order approximation on the Lamb-Dicke parameter, which is more universal in the experiment. Numerical simulations confirm the validity of our derivation.

Abstract :

In this paper, we propose an efficient method to achieve a multimode quantum Rabi model in a strong-coupling cavity optomechanical system. In the proposed proposal, we show that when the driving bichromatic laser is simultaneously adjusted to red- and blue-sideband excitations, the interaction between the cavity mode and the vibrational modes can be treated as a multimode quantum Rabi model under the single-photon strong-coupling regime. As a typical example, we theoretically analyze the two-mode quantum Rabi model and show that the entangled state of two vibrational modes can be achieved in the two-mode quantum Rabi model. Numerical simulations confirm the validity of the proposed scheme.

研究离散变量与连续变量系统在纠缠态下的非局域关联性是量子信息处理中的基本理论与应用课题。对于局域隐变量理论的Bell不等式的违背可以很好地体现这些关联。在本文中,我们对量子比特自旋操作与谐振子旋转宇称操作进行联合测量,研究了量子比特与谐振子相干态的纠缠对Bell不等式的影响,并且证明,当量子比特与谐振子之间的纠缠接近最大值时,二者的非局域关联几乎最大限度地违背了Bell不等式。之后通过对Mermin-Klyshko不等式的违背,进一步研究了一个或多个比特与两个谐振子相干态纠缠的系统的非局域关联性。结果表明随着谐振子相干态的振幅增大,非局域性也会快速增强,同时,相干态振幅取值适中,就能使Merm...

Abstract :

提出了一种利用双光学侧面三棱镜独立调整分光计的方法。通过光路分析了利用双光学侧面三棱镜调整分光计实验操作中的问题,指出了用双光学侧面三棱镜独立调整分光计应满足的特殊条件:三棱镜的棱须平行分光计的中心转轴。阐述了有效的调整方法:先调整好三棱镜两光学侧面垂直望远镜光轴,再将三棱镜旋转120度,并调整其两光学侧面再次垂直望远镜光轴。同时还分析了三棱镜的棱不与分光计中心转轴平行时实验上可观察到的现象,并阐明相应的调节方法。

Abstract :

The second-order quantum phase transition and quench dynamics in the two-mode Rabi model are investigated. We propose a diagonalization approach of jointly using a beam-splitter operator and a squeezed operator for each effective low-energy Hamiltonian when the ratio of the qubit transition frequency to the oscillator frequency approximates infinity. Eigenenergy and eigenstate of the normal and superradiant phases in the system are analytically derived, demonstrating the second-order quantum phase transition at a critical point. This critical point means that the requirement of coupling strength between the qubit and two oscillators is largely loosened by joint effect of two modes when compared with the standard Rabi model. The universal scaling between residual energy and quench time from tau(-1/3) to tau(-2) is confirmed.

Abstract :

In this paper, we propose a simple method to simultaneously generate the entanglement between macroscopic objects (mechanical oscillators) and entanglement between microscopic objects (photons) based on a coupled cavity-optomechanical system. We show that when the cavity-optomechanical system works in the single-photon strong-coupling regime and in the deep quantum regime, the radiation pressure of a photon which is created by the atom-cavity interaction, can directly induce these joint entangled states. Thus, no measurement on this system is required. Numerical simulation shows that the fidelity of the prepared joint entangled states can reach 0.954.

Abstract :

We study a cross-cavity quantum Rabi model with ultrastrong coupling, and its analytical ground state is demonstrated to be approximately obtained by using the rotating-transformation method. Our method requires making three unitary transformations to the original Hamiltonian and ignoring the three-party cross interaction. In near-resonance and ultrastrong-coupling regimes, the ground-state fidelity is higher than 99% for a +/- 20% detuning range. We analytically demonstrate that the entanglement in ground state first quadratically increases with the qubit-oscillator coupling strength, then gets close to the maximum value 1. The oscillator's nonclassical property in the ground state is well explained by analytically solving the Wigner function.
