Abstract:
The first rhodamine-based optical-electrochemical multichannel chemosensor for Fe3+ (1) has been designed and synthesized. The probe 1 displayed an extreme selectivity for Fe3+ over a range of other metal ions, including Cr3+, through UV/vis absorption, fluorescence emission and electrochemical measurements.
