Abstract:
Zinc sulfide microspheres are synthesized via a hydrothermal method, using surfactant P123 as template, and a possible mechanism of P123 as template for fabricating zinc sulfide microspheres was proposed. TEM, XRD, N-2 adsorption-desorption isotherms and FT-IR spectra were used for characterization. It shows that the zinc sulfide microspheres with diameter of 500 similar to 600 nm is comprised of ZnS nanocrystals with diameter of 6 similar to 7 mn. It is not only smooth and round, but also monodispersed. FT-IR spectra show that it is transparent from 4000 to 400 cm(-1). Therefore it is potential in many other fields such as optics, electronics, magnetics and so on.
