Abstract:
It has been found that N-(beta-carboxylpropionyl)luminol (CPL) gives electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) at a platinum electrode in KCl-NaHCO3-Na2CO3 solution when a triangular pulse voltage is applied, and the presence of 5.8 x 10(-4) mol l(-1) H2O2 enhances this ECL. The optimum chemical conditions and electrochemical parameters for this ECL system have been investigated in detail, Under the optimum conditions the linear response range of CPL is 1.0 x 10(-11)-3.6 x 10(-7) mol l(-1), the detection limit was 1.0 x 10(-11) mol l(-1), and the relative standard deviation for 5 x 10(-9) mol l(-1) CPL was 5.8%. The mechanism for this ECL system is discussed. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
