Abstract:
With column limb slope as the experimental parameter, compression experiments of 6 variable cross-sectional concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) laced columns were studied, while two other uniform cross-sectional CFST laced columns for comparative analysis. Stress mechanism and failure mode of variable CFST laced columns are analysed. The influence of column limb slope on load capacity of variable CFST laced columns is discussed. The results show that variable CFST laced columns are overall damage. Compared with 2 m high uniform CFST laced column, ultimate load capacity of variable CFST laced columns with column limb slopes 1:40 and 1:20 have a corresponding increase of 3% and 5%.
