Abstract:
Experiments on CFST latticed columns subjected to eccentric loads are carried out. The parameter is specimen's slenderness ratio. Test results indicate that the critical load decreases with the increase of slenderness ratio. Compression is dominated in longitudinal members and hoop effect of steel tube to concrete core takes effect in nonlinear phase. The forces in lattice tubes are very small and they are in elastic phase all the time. Strains of longitudinal elements near the joints are very large and it finally leads to the failure of the specimens. The forces in lattice tubes are very small and the material is in elastic phase during the whole process. CFST latticed columns has the behavior of tube structure to some extent, although concrete is filled in the longitudinal tubes.
