Abstract:
Based on the trial design of composite arch bridge with steel webs and skeleton reinforced concrete(SRC) flanges, the research on compression performance of 9 specimens were carried out for the composite column with SRC by changing the parameters of diameter-thickness ratio and eccentricity ratio. The results show that most columns were wrecked by crushing the concrete outside the steel tube, and the net crack distribution was dominant. The concrete far away from the load was tensioned for eccentric compression members. The outside concrete, steel tube and longitudinal reinforcement of composite column with SRC work cooperatively under compression. The greater the eccentricity ratio, the lower the bearing capacity and stiffness of compressive members. The influence of diameter-thickness ratio on bearing capacity was smaller under the axial compression. While for eccentric compression members, the capacity reached to extreme when the diameter-thickness ratio was 0.5.
