Abstract:
A bismaleimide (BMI) resin system based on allyl condensed polynuclear aromatic (COPNA) resin and 4, 4′-bismaleimidodiphenyl methane was used to prepare BMI resin/graphite oxide (GO) nanocomposites via solution intercalation method, and the properties of the nanocomposites were studied in this paper. The structures and properties of GO and the nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). In addition, the mechanical properties of the nanocomposites were studied using mechanical testing machine. Results show that the exfoliated nanocomposites are obtained, and the nanocomposites exhibit well thermo-stability as indicated by that the onset degradation temperature arrives at 450°C and char residue at 800°C reaches 48.8%. Moreover, the nanocomposites have good mechanical properties.
