Abstract:
In order to obtain a high-performance resin matrix for advanced polymeric composites (APC), a new condensed polynuclear aromatic (COPNA) resin containing allyl was synthesized using 1-hydroxy naphthalene, 1, 4-benzenedimethanol, allyl-chlorine, and so on. The chemical structures of the COPNA resin were characterized by FT-IR and 1H-NMR, and the copolymerization reactivity of the COPNA resin and bismaleimide (BMI) was studied through gel analysis. Moreover, TG-DTG was employed to study the thermal behavior of the copolymer of the COPNA resin and BMI. The results show that the COPNA resin has high reactivity with BMI due to the active group of allyl, and the resulting copolymer possesses excellent thermo-stability and high coke value.
