Abstract:
A poly {(3-propionyl) pyrrole-[2, 5-diyl (p-tetradecoxybenzylidene)]} (PPPDTBE) that had excellent solubility and film forming ability was synthesized by gradual molecular design method and its molecular structure and property were also characterized and analyzed. Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) curve indicates that PPPDTBE is decomposed mainly by two steps, which correspond to the fracture of propionyl group and tetradecoxyphenyl group, respectively. The optical absorption of PPPDTBE in CHCl3 solution and film is broad in the wavelength range of 450 nm~550 nm and the absorption peaks are located at around 480 nm and 486 nm, respectively. Moreover, the optical band gap and the electrochemical band gap are 1.81 eV and 1.23 eV, respectively.
