Abstract:
For the different circuit topologies of combined bi-directional forward converter mode and forward chopper mode inverters with high frequency (HF) link, control strategies, theory characteristics and design criteria for those key circuit parameters of these two inverters were compared and researched in this paper. Taking the theoretical derivation method, a series of important relativities of the quality of output voltage waveform, turn ratio and power losses of HF transformer, input filter, voltage and current stresses of power switches between these two inverters were obtained. Those analysis and experiment results indicate that the combined bi-directional forward chopper mode inverter has better performance due to its single power stage and none current circulation. What's more, its turn ratio N2/N1 is reduced from 42/3 to 39/3 and output voltage variation is improved from inner ±2 V to inner ±1 V. These two combined bi-directional forward mode inverters with HF link are featured by application prospect in the inverting field of galvanic occasion, high power density, and high power efficiency.
