Abstract:
Based on the Eulerian-Lagrangian approach and the alternating-direction Galerkin technique, a characteristic alternating-direction Galerkin finite element method is developed for the simulation of two-dimensional saturated-unsaturated solute transport in porous media. Practical examples demonstrate that the method has advantages in overcoming numerical diffusion and oscillation and ensuring high efficiency of computation.
