In order to solve the contradiction between energy-saving operation and reliability of intelligent electromagnetic switch, and keep stable holding when the switch operating conditions change, this paper proposes an adaptive control strategy based on a double closed loop control system: The coil current is used as inner loop feedback for energy-saving operation control of low current holding of electromagnetic switch, the contact signal is introduced to calculate the amplitude and slope quickly, and feedback the contact state as the outer loop; Two coil current control modes, normal and abnormal, are designed. Normal control realizes energy-saving operation of the switch, the abnormal control realizes the stable holding of the switch under overload, short circuit and other extremely large current levels, the outer loop feedback discriminates the contact load condition, the control mode of inner loop coil current is judged based on it. The ampere-turns at core saturation is deduced by constructing equivalent magnetic circuit of core, combined with strong excitation control and switching action time, the coil current adjustment scheme is determined to achieve fast switching between the normal state and the abnormal state control mode. Relevant simulations and experiments verify the effectiveness of the control strategy and have a universal significance for improving the reliability of intelligent electromagnetic switches. © 2019 by International Academic Publishers Ltd.
