Abstract:
To improve the road-holding and ride-comfort of vehicles, a new method is presented on the basis of dual active aerodynamic control (DAAS). Two active aerodynamic surfaces are properly installed on sprung mass and unsprung mass respectively for generating lift forces that independently control the vertical acceleration of sprung mass and unsprung mass. A YOUN control law of is used as the control algorithm of the DAAS system and the active suspension (AS) system. The performance of the proposed control algorithm was evaluated in Matlab/Simulink. Simulation results show that, by the comparisons between passive suspension(PS), active suspension(AS) and DAAS, DAAS can be significantly improve the road holding and ride comfort of vehicles at the same time, and can response faster than AS and PS. © 2018 IEEE.
