This　short　report　summarized　the　structureactivity　relationships　of　a　series　of　phthalocyanines　substituted　with　different　functional　groups　at　axial　or　peripheral　positions　reported　previously　by　us.　The　effects　of　the　type,　number,　and　position　of　substituents　as　well　as　center　ions,　e.g.　Si(IV)　and　Zn(II),　have　been　discussed　on　the　photophysical　and　photochemical　properties,　and　photodynamic　activities.
