Abstract:
This article stemmed from practice experience of being a professional interior designer. A number of questions arose mainly concerning the role of the interior designer in relation to the client. As the relationship between client and designer is always a dynamic one that changes over the course of the design process, this article focuses primarily on implementing communication modes to enhance the design process and achieve the design goals. As Internet has been broadly employed in our daily lives and the advancing of information communication technology, inevitably, communicational applications via Internet are counted as a useful tool to replace traditional communication ways conducted in design processes. By examining existing difficulties of communications and potentialities for the future design process, this article proposes a conceptual prototype of Web-Based Communication Service based on a user-centered design to enhance communication for the practice of interior design. © 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
