Abstract:
Poly (3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene) (PEDOT) was secondary doped with ethylene glycol (EG) and the electrical properties, surface morphology and molecular composition of the secondary doped PEDOT were investigated. Moreover, the mechanism of secondary doping modification was discussed. The results showed that before secondary doping modification, the conductivity of PEDOT film was lower, because PEDOT conducting grains could not contact each other due to PSS insulating coating layer and the tunneling effect was dominant for the transportation of charges in the PEDOT film. The conductivity of PEDOT film was enhanced by the EG secondary doping because of the phase separating between PEDOT and PSS, the decrease of relative content of PSS and the formation of conducting channel among PEDOT conducting grains.
