Abstract:

The location of the faulty section of the distribution network is the prerequisite for the fault isolation and power supply restoration of the distribution network. Therefore, studying the location of the faulty section of the distribution network is of great significance to improve the reliability of the power supply of the distribution network. Firstly, the methods for locating fault sections in domestic and foreign distribution networks are summarized and classified. Then, according to the different types of faults, the section location methods for large current faults and small current faults in the distribution network are introduced respectively. Among them, the basic principles, advantages and disadvantages, and development process are analyzed. Finally, combined with the development trend of the distribution network, the future research on the fault location technology of the distribution network is prospected. © 2021 IEEE.
