Abstract:
Si-and Ge-based materials have been regarded as the prospective anode materials when applied on lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) owing to their advantage on high theoretical capacity. Nevertheless, its practical application hindered by the poor cycling performance which was resulted by huge volume expansion. In the present work, a composite of Ge/Si@NC/rGO has been synthesized by using a simple synthetic route, and exhibited a high initial Coulombic efficiency of 85% and a better cycling performance. It can retain a high capacity of 1301.7 mA h g(-1) after 500 cycles with an initial Coulombic efficiency of 83% even at a high current density of 1 A g(-1). The synergistic effect of Ge and Si might play a great role in the composite, in which Ge could improve the conductivity and Si could increase the capacity. In addition, the existence of rGO and N-doped carbon matrix could accelerate the transport of electrons and lithium ions inside electrode, and effectively suppressed volume change after the constantly lithiation and de-lithiation.
