Abstract:
With the popularity of electric vehicles, wireless charging technology has developed rapidly because of its safety, convenience and automation characteristics. Dynamic wireless charging has attracted widespread attention because it does not need large capacity energy storage batteries compared with static wireless charging. However, both dynamic wireless charging and static wireless charging have interoperability problems. This paper proposes a dynamic wireless charging system based on a new type of staggered transmitting coil array that is decoupled from each other. It can realize the compatibility of unipolar and bipolar receiving coils. Moreover, the proposed system can charge two different receivers simultaneously. The mathematical model is derived and the 1.2 kW simulation model is built, which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed system. The maximum efficiency is 91.14% when the receiver is a unipolar coil, and 91.19% when the receiver is a bipolar coil. © 2023 IEEE.
