Abstract:
Acrylic acid (AA) and sodium styrene sulfonate(SSS) were grafted onto Poly (tetrafluoroethylene-co-hexafluoropropylene) (FEP) films by pre-irradiation method, some novel film resistive humidity sensors based on the grafted films were prepared. Grafting was confirmed by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and the structure of the grafted films was investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM). The humidity sensors so prepared showed a high sensitivity over a wide range of relative humidity (RH) (5%-98%RH) and a small hysteresis (about 1%RH). The response time for adsorption and desorption process between 5% and 98%.RH was 90s and 220s, respectively, indicating a fast response.
