Abstract:
This paper investigates and compares the influences of different rotor pole on the torque performance of a novel separated excitation axial field hybrid permanent magnet (PM) memory (SE-AFHPMM) motor. The topology and operating principle of the proposed motor are firstly addressed. Then, comparisons are made on different stator/rotor pole combination motors in terms of flux linkage and electromagnetic torque. Finally, the PM torque components of the two types of PMs are separated by frozen permeability method (FPM) to investigate the actual contribution of them. © 2023 IEEE.
