Abstract:
There are constant-current (CC) and constant-voltage (CV) charging or multistage CC charging with different CC or CV levels for different electric vehicles. Accommodating multiple output levels is challenging for a wireless power transfer (WPT) system. In addition, maintaining high efficiency and output stability during misalignment is required for practical applications. To meet the above requirements, dual-channel WPT systems with reconfigurable series-parallel switchers (RSPS) are proposed in this article. With the RSPS connected to both input and output ports of two power channels, the range of CV or CC output can be lifted to fourfold. The proposed systems are compatible with full-bridge and half-bridge switching that provides more output levels. Strong misalignment tolerance is achieved by the hybrid topologies. An experimental prototype is established to verify the proposed WPT systems. The results have revealed that the proposed systems can provide a wide CV or CC output range and maintain output stability with efficiency up to 93.3% under a misalignment distance from 0 to 100 mm.
