Abstract:
The output voltage of a magnetically resonance-coupled wireless power transfer (WPT) system is very sensitive to the coil alignment. In this paper, a novel quadrupole coil structure as a receiving coil for static charging of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) is proposed to improve the mutual inductance profile under XOY plane misalignment conditions during AGV charging. The enhanced coil structure effectively reduces the output power and voltage fluctuations. An experimental prototype is established to validate the feasibility of the proposed WPT system. The experimental results show that the output voltage fluctuation is only 10.85% over a 77.78% coil area offset area covering the whole charging plane.
