Abstract:
For automated guided vehicles (AGVs), the charging current is generally high to shorten the charging time. To achieve a high-current output, parallel connections are often chosen to distribute the current evenly across multiple coils or systems. This letter proposes a high-current output method based on intertwined receiving coils and split compensation capacitors. The receiving coil is split into four intertwined coils. They are arranged in such a way that the four coils are symmetrical to each other even with offset. Meanwhile, part or all of the compensating capacitors on the receiving side can also be split into four branches, connecting to the corresponding four receiving coils. It is proved that for the coil structure proposed when the whole compensating capacitors are split into four branches, the current difference of the four coils is the smallest. An experimental prototype is implemented. The experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve good current balancing performance of the four receiving coils even under the conditions of load change and coil position offset.
