Abstract:
An economical nickel-saving casting duplex stainless steel Cr25Mn10Mo4Ni2N was melt in mid-frequency induction furnace, and then compared with the 2205 duplex stainless steel and 316L austenitic stainless steels. The corrosion resistance, mechanical property and fracture of the alloys were investigated by means of electrochemical testing technology, ESEM and tensile test. Corrosion tests results show that nickel-saving casting duplex stainless steel Cr25Mn10Mo4Ni2N has the best corrosion resistance, 2205 duplex stainless steel is poorer, and 316L austenitic stainless steel is worst. Tensile tests results indicate that the plasticity of the Cr25Mn10Mo4Ni2N steel after 1120 solution treatment is lower than that of the 2205 and 316L steels, but the tensile strength and hardness are better than that of the 2205 and 316L steels. ©, 2014, Editorial Office of Transactions of Materials and Heat Treatment.
