Abstract:
A series of novel red light-emitting phosphors Li2Y4-xEux (MoO4)7 were synthesized by a solid-state reaction. The optimal synthesis of the phosphors via sintering occurred at 850°C for 4 h. The result by X-ray diffraction indicates that the sample is a pure phase of Li2Y4(MoO4)7 crystal structure with the tetragonal crystal system. The photoluminescence spectra exhibit that the sample can be excited effectively by a near-ultraviolet light of 395 nm and a visible light of 465 nm. The main emission peaks located at 615 nm, corresponding to 5D0→7F2 transition of Eu3+, and they could be used for a white light emitting diode (LED) with the color performance. The relative intensity of the sample Li2Y1.2Eu2.8 (MoO4)7 reached a maximum when the doped-Eu3+ quantity x was 2.8.
