Abstract:
The copolymer of allyl condensed polynuclear aromatic(COPNA) resin and bismaleimide(BMI) was used to prepare new resin microspheres using silicone oil as dispersant by means of suspension polymerization. The morphologies of the allyl COPNA-BMI resin microspheres were investigated through SEM. The chemical structures of the resin microspheres were characterized by FT-IR. Moreover, the thermal behavior and morphologies of the resin microspheres were studied by TG-DTG and SEM, respectively. The results show that the resin microspheres with size of 10 μm~20 μm have fine degree of sphericity and smoothness. The curing reaction of the allyl COPNA-BMI resin has finished after suspension polymerization. The resin microspheres possess excellent thermal properties, indicated by that initial decomposition temperature is 420°Cand carbonization yield arrives at 49.1% in nitrogen. Furthermore, the pyrolysis product of the resin microspheres are made up of carbon spheres with fine degree of sphericity.
