Abstract:
Since the reform and opening up, the urbanization level of urban agglomerations in China has improved significantly, but there are obvious regional differences between urban agglomerations. It is very important for urban construction to study the interaction between transportation infrastructure and urbanization. This paper selects the panel data of Beijing Tianjin Hebei Urban Agglomeration, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration and Chengdu Chongqing urban agglomeration from 2009 to 2016, constructs the panel vector autoregressive model, and discusses the interaction between the transportation infrastructure and urbanization of the three urban agglomerations. The results show that there is a significant one-way relationship between the traffic infrastructure and the urbanization level of the three urban agglomerations; the traffic infrastructure construction speed of Beijing Tianjin Hebei Urban Agglomerations and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomerations is slow, which slows down the urbanization speed of the two urban agglomerations, while the traffic infrastructure construction of Chengdu Chongqing urban agglomerations promotes the urbanization level. Based on the research results, the paper puts forward targeted policy recommendations to promote the coordinated development of transportation infrastructure construction and urbanization in three major urban agglomerations. © 2022 SPIE
