Abstract:
US nanoarods have been synthesized by using Cetyltrimethyl Ammonium Bromide (CTAB) as the soft template under gamma-irradiation through the reaction of cadmium sulphide (CdSO4 center dot 8/3H(2)O) and thiacetamide (TAA) in acidic condition for pH value of 3. The physical and chemical properties and the structure of US nanorods were characterized by XRD, UV-Vis, SAED, TEM and PL. The results indicate that US nanorods synthesized by soft template method are below 100 nm in diameter and above 3 nm in length, and low irradiative dosage and concentration of reactants can accelerate the formation of US nanorods with higher length-to-diameter factor about 30:1 range.
