Abstract:
The operating characteristic testing of contactor based on high-speed cameras was introduced. The movement process of AC contactor was tested by high speed camera in different closing and opening phase angle and the displacement and speed curves were obtained. The feasibility and accuracy of the method was verified by comparison of the test results between the laser displacement sensor and high speed camera. Meanwhile, the high speed camera got arc image of AC contactor closing process and the arc time distribution curve was obtained by using the MATLAB image processing toolkit to extract the contact bounce information on load. Also, the arc during breaking course was caught by high speed camera and the breaking characteristics of the contactor was obtained. It provided analysis basis to improve the dynamic characteristic of the contactor.
