Abstract:
Mini-LED, with its small size, flexibility, and stability, can be applied in various fields. It is necessary to adopt different driving methods in different scenarios. In this work, a new type of Mini-LED driving technique called non-contact alternating current power transmission (NCACPT) driving based on magnetic coupling resonant are designed, which uses the alternating current (AC) from the receiving coil to drive Mini-LED. This new device could be called NCACPT-LED. Novel equivalent circuit models are proposed and have been employed to conduct finite element simulation on Mini-LED under this driving technique. Based on the results obtained from the finite element simulation, the sudden extinction phenomenon and the resonant frequency shift are explained. Electrical and optical characteristics of NCACPT-LED are investigated. The novel LED device proposed in this study, coupled with the analysis of the experimental phenomena, contributes to the progress of Mini-LED applications across various domains.
