Abstract:

In this work, SnO2 nanowires have been synthesized and the field emission characteristics of SnO2 nanowires are investigated in detail. The results show that when current density reaches to 1 mu A/cm(2), electric field is 1.3 V/mu m. The current density dramatically jumps to 1.3 mA/cm(2) at the applied field of 2.1 V/mu m, and its luminous intensity is 1850 cd/m(2). This shows that SnO2 nanowires hold promise for field emission display application. And its emission stability will be further improved in the near future. (C) 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
